Elgin Echo, Thursday, 21 May 1896.

Mesdames L. L. Ainsworth, P. L. Hinkley and H. S. Brunson, of Fayette, left for Freeport, Illinois, May 11, called there by the death of a brother, O. H. P. McCool. The McCool's settled near Freeport in 1840 and have ever since been residents of the vicinity. There were six girls and three boys in the family and aside from the death of one of the girls, which occurred in 1844, this is the first break in the family of children. Perry, who has just died, was 75 years of age and all the survivors are over 60. This is a remarkable record for longevity. – Argo.
