Elgin Echo, Thursday, 25 June 1903.

Miss Louisa Falb was born at Elgin, Nov. 28, 1871, and died at the home of her sister, Mrs. Hans Keiser, Friday morning at five o'clock, June 19, 1903, after an illness of only eight days duration, was at the time of her death 31 years, 6 months and 21 days old. The immediate cause of her death was congestive chills.

Louisa was a daughter of Mr. and Mrs. John Falb, Sr., her father having preceded her in death some two years ago. Her mother is still living and resides with her son John Falb, Jr., in our city.

For the past eight years deceased had made her home with her sister, Mrs. Hans Keiser, and during that time had been Postmaster Keiser's assistant in the postoffice, which position she filled with credit to herself and the satisfaction of all, and it will be hard to find another to take her pace in this capacity.

Funeral services were held at the German Baptist church Sunday afternoon at 2:30 o'clock, Rev. Stoeckman delivering a fitting tribute to the departed. A large concourse of relatives and friends gathered to pay a last tribute of respect to the departed loved one and as the casket was lowered into the silent tomb many were those who turned homeward with a heavy heart, realizing that in the one just laid to rest they had lost a true friend.

Deceased leaves to mourn her loss an aged mother, two brothers, two sisters besides other relatives and numerous friends.
