Elgin Echo, Thursday, 10 June 1903.

Dr. S. E. Robinson, one of West Union's oldest and best known physicians died in that city Friday evening June 5, 1903, after a long and lingering illness. The best of medical skill and change of climate were employed to restore health and vigor, and but a short time ago he returned from Arizona where he had gone in the hope that the climate might prove beneficial, but all to no purpose. The disease had a firm hold and after a life of usefulness he finally passed to the great beyond on the above date.

Dr. Robinson has been a practitioner in this county for many years, and during this time has made many friends who will learn of his demise with great regret. The funeral was held from his late home Monday afternoon, with Sir Knight Honors, and friends from far and near attended, the cortege composed of some 50 Knights, in uniform, and fully as many members of the Blue Lodge, and about 30 of his G.A.R. comrades together with many private citizens paid their last tribute of respect to their brother, comrade and fellow citizen. Those from our city who attended were: Messrs Aug. Benson, Nick Schori, John Conner, H. S. Hadsel and Aug. Holzer.
