Elgin Echo, Thursday, 16 July 1908.
Ole Anderson, a farmer who resided a short distance north of Clermont, died very suddenly Thursday evening. He was apparently in his usual health and, after eating a hearty supper, he went out on the porch where he read the newspaper. He talked a short time and went to bed. As soon as he laid down, it became difficult to breath and in a short time he breathed his last. Heart trouble is attributed as the cause of death.
Deceased was born in Norway, January 2, 1849, and immigrated to this country in 1877. He was married to Anna Nelson the same year. To this union 10 children were born, three girls and seven boys, of whom one girl preceded him to the other world. At the time of death he lived on the place where he settled in 1882. He leaves besides his wife and children, two sisters and one brother besides many relatives and friends, to mourn their loss. Funeral services were held Sunday and internment made in the Clermont Lutheran Cemetery.
