Elgin Echo, Thursday, 15 September 1898.

On Monday evening, September 12, 1898, occurred the death of Leo Falb, at the home of his parents in Elgin; aged three years, one month and 14 days. Funeral services were held at the home on Tuesday morning conducted by Rev. Hack and interment was made in the Elgin Cemetery.

Leo was a bright, chubby little fellow, half child and half baby; just beginning to lisp those words that bind the heart of all the world, in the only pure and true love, to the infant whom all mankind adores and worships. He was of so sweet a disposition and so plump and pleasant that everyone along the street knew and loved him and always had a kind word for the little man who told of his wishes and baby woes, in part German and part English. His cute diminutive form, his ever smiling face and his childish way and talk; were sunbeams in a dreary autumn day, to those who lived with him or met him and as long as there life is will there be a bright and tender recollection of Leo.

The friends and acquaintances of the family and the boy are mourners for the loss of him whose existence has been but as a pleasant dream. All extend their condolence and sympathy.

A separate article in this paper and date mentioned a Miss Walters, 20 years old, Leo's aunt, also sick.

Submitter is not related.
