Levi Washburn Kinney was born August 6, 1896, at Elgin, Iowa, died March 21, 1898, after an illness of 13 days, aged one year, seven months and 15 days. He was the 10th child of Mr. and Mrs. A. D. Kinney. His stay with us was brief, but long enough for those around him to love him so dearly that when we were to part it seemed an utter impossibility. He was a very bright child, baby of the family, and was sunshine and joy in our home, and one beam of light has faded right before our eyes that no power here could prevent it. He did not want for care, throughout his suffering kind and willing hands done all they could.

The funeral services were held at the home, conducted by Rev. Perry, and our dear baby was laid to rest in the Elgin Cemetery.
