Elgin Echo, Thursday, 7 November 1918.
Miss Helen Craft, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. John Craft of West Union, died Sunday night, November 3, at Stanley, North Dakota, where she had been superintendent of the school's for the past three years. Miss Craft had been ill about a week with influenza, her death being due to pneumonia, from which she suffered three days. The body will arrive here this evening. Helen Craft was a graduate of the West Union high school and Upper Iowa University at Fayette. She taught three years in the West Union high school immediately following her graduation from the school, and was very successful in her work. Mr. and Mrs. Craft left here Friday afternoon and arrived at Stanley Sunday morning. The funeral arrangements are not known as yet. – Argo-Gazette.
