Elgin Echo, Thur., 11 January 1917.

Mrs. Ann Barnhouse Kennendy died at six a.m. on Sunday, Jan. 7, at West Union, after suffering for two weeks from plural-pneumonia. The funeral was held at one p.m. yesterday (Tuesday) from the Methodist church, and interment was made in a private cemetery east of West Union.

Ann Barnhouse was born Feb. 17, 1840, in Carroll county, Ohio, and came to Fayette county with her parents in 1853. She was married in 1885 to James Kennedy, who died some years ago. She resided for many years on the place three miles east of West Union, on land which her father entered from the government over sixty years ago, and that was her home when she died. Her age was 76 years, 10 months and 20 days.

She is survived by a brother and three sisters, Mrs. Sarah Ogle lives in Illyria township, John Barnhouse at Trinidad, Colo., Mrs. Jane Sanderson in Arizona, and Mrs. Rena Hazlett in Butler county, Iowa. Three brothers, William, Frank and James Barnhouse, preceded her in death. She is also survived by a large number of nephews and nieces.- Argo-Gazette.
