Elgin Echo, Thur., 27 July 1899. From the West Union Argo.

From the Argo of yesterday: George, the nineteen year old son of Mr. and Mrs. G. C. Jensen, had been ill several days with the measles and confined to the house. Saturday morning his mother went to the well to get him a drink of water and he sat down in his father's easy chair in front of the writing desk. He took a revolver from the desk, put his feet upon another chair and was examining the gun, when it was discharged, the bullet striking him squarely in the forehead, killing him instantly. Mrs. Jensen heard the report and was horrified to find George dead when she reached him. His hands were in his lap holding the revolver pointed directly at his face, and the theory is that he was examining it when his finger slipped from the hammer, the cartridge was exploded and he never knew what hurt him. That is what coroner Robinson decided after reviewing the facts of the case.
