Elgin Echo, Thur., 4 Nov. 1909.

Christian Reusser was born at Bern, Switzerland, and passed away at his home near this city October 30, 1909. At the time of death he was 47 years and 10 months old. When a very young man he was converted and baptized upon confession of faith in Jesus. He immigrated to America in the year 1883 and settled in this vicinity. In 1888 he was married to Rosa Schwendman and to this union 8 children were born. Mr. Reuser had been sick for the past two years or more. He was a quiet and patient sufferer and submissively awaited the inevitable. He was a Christian and a member of the Baptist church and by his fair dealing and ever ready kindnesses to those with whom he came in contact he had won the respect and confidence of the community in which he lived.

The funeral was held from the German Baptist church in this city Tuesday, Rev. J. G. Draewel, the pastor, officiating, and the remains were laid to rest in the Elgin cemetery. To the wife, 8 children, 2 brothers, 1 sister and sorrowing relatives and friends the sympathy of all is extended in this time of sorrow.
