The sad tidings of the death of Mrs. Arthur Walds reached friends in this city Monday. The lady was taken sick at her home in Oskaloosa some time since and a few weeks ago was brought to her old home in Clermont where it was hoped her condition would improve. This was not to be and she was removed to Rochester, Minn., where she was to submit to a surgical operation. While at the hospital preparatory to the operation she grew worse and passed away Sunday, July 11. The remains were taken to Clermont where appropriate services were held and the body laid to rest in the Clermont cemetery. Mrs. Walds will be remembered by our people as Miss Mae Pringle, a former teacher in the Intermediate Department of our public school.
