Wm. Kimpson, the subject of this brief sketch, was born May 5, 1828, in Tyrone Co., Ireland, where he resided until 1849, during which year he came to America, locating in Wayne Co., Penn., where he resided until the year 1852. In that year he was united in marriage to Sarah Wilson and they, soon after their marriage, went to Perth Co., Ontario, Canada, where they resided until the year 1868 when they removed to Iowa, locating in Illyria township, Fayette County. To this union were born nine children, 7 sons and two daughters. Deceased is survived by a wife, 5 sons and 1 daughter, besides many relatives and friends.

Wm. Kimpson passed from this life Feb. 1, 1909. Funeral services were held at the Illyria church Thursday, Feb. 4th, Rev. J. S. Moore presiding, and interment was made in the cemetery there, where his remains were consigned to mother earth, there to await the resurrection morn.
