Elgin Echo, Thursday, 26 September 1912.

The word that Mrs. Rosina Kohler had passed away at her home south of town, Saturday night, caused sorrow to her many friends when they learned of her demise. For some time the lady had been a great sufferer, and in the hope that her life might be saved she was taken to Rochester, Minn., a few months ago where a surgical operation was performed. For a time she improved and then the disease, which had gained such a firm hold in her system returned, and she gradually failed until the end came.

Rosina Moser was born in Canton Bern, Switzerland, February 5, 1846, and came to America in 1866. In July 1869 she was united in marriage to John Henry Kohler and to this union two daughters and two sons were born. Mr. Kohler died March 11, 1879, and Mrs. Kohler succumbed to the inevitable September 21, 1911, at the age of 66 years, 7 months and 16 days. The four children and sisters survive as the nearest relatives, while a large circle of relatives and friends join with them in deep sorrow at the death of one who was loved and respected by all who knew her.

Mrs. Kohler, for many years had been a devoted Christian and will be greatly missed in the church as well as in the home which she had kept for her boys for some years, her daughters being married and having homes of their own.

Funeral services were held Tuesday, the cortege leaving the house at 1:00 o'clock, after short services, and coming to the German Baptist church in this city, where Rev. Draewel had charge of the funeral rites. Interment was made in the Elgin cemetery by the side of her husband who had preceded her to the other world.
