Mr. Ludwig Kohls was born in Germany Dec. 08, 1827. He came to America in 1893 accompanied by his wife and three children. Four of his children in lucrative positions in the old country remained there. He made his home with son William and daughter-in-law, living near Wadena. Sixteen years ago the other son, Herman, living on the place just north of our county farm, was kicked by a horse and died four days later. Father Kohls was feeble and in poor health for the last few years till at the Christmas season of this year death ushered him into the presence of his Lord, whom he confessed to love and serve. He died at the age of 85 years and 15 days. Funeral services were held in the German Baptist church Thursday afternoon, Dec. 26th, and were conducted by Rev. Draewel. Interment was made in Elgin cemetery.
