Anna May Isle was born August 12, 1840, in Canton Bern, Switzerland. She came to this country with her relatives in 1846 and settled in Ohio. In 1855 they moved to Iowa making their home near Elgin. She was married to John F. Miller in 1859. Ten children were born unto them, namely; Wesley, Henry, George, Jacob, Frank and Fred, Mrs. Melchr Luchsinger, and Mrs. John Durscher, two other children dying in infancy. Those who survive reside near this city.

She died November 10, aged 71 years, 3 months, minus two days. Two brothers, one sister, her husband and eight children, thirty-six grandchildren and other immediate relatives, though weeping, rejoice in the thought of her home-going to the Lord, whom she loved and honored. There are also nine great grandchildren left behind.

Services were held in the Baptist church Tuesday afternoon and the remains laid to rest in our cemetery.
