John Lichter, an elderly German farmer living east of Waucoma, committed suicide by hanging, April 28. He had been ill for a long time, and Sunday as most of the rest of the family were at church he escaped the notice of those in the house and went to the barn, where in a short time he was found hanging dead, despondency and pain having crazed his brain.
