On last Friday occurred the death of one of Grand Meadow's oldest and most respected residents, Mr. Peter Dempsey. He had been in poor health for some time and his demise was not wholly unexpected. He was one of the earliest settlers of Grand Meadow township and amongst the earliest of Clayton county. To know him was but to appreciate his good qualities and in many ways he left an example worthy of emulation. He has been for some years a resident of Clermont, but his neighbors and friends have not forgotten him and all join in extending to the bereaved wife and children their heartfelt sympathy.
