Last Friday morning Elgin people were grieved to hear the announcement that Raymond Hack, the six-year-old son of Rev. and Mrs. Hack had died at 1:30 a.m. that morning. The child had been very low for some days with brain fever and while his demise was not unexpected it was no less sad to all.

Raymond Hack was born in Philadelphia, Penn., December 31, 1888, and therefore was, at the time of his death, June 7, 1895, six years, five months and seven days old. Funeral services were held Sunday, June 9th, at 10:30 a.m. at the German Baptist church in Elgin, conducted by Rev. Schuff, of Muscatine, Iowa, and was largely attended by the friends and congregation of the bereaved father.
