Elgin Echo, Thursday, 3 April 1902.
On Thursday, March 27, 1902, at the Judson Nichols home in Elgin, after an illness of several months, the angel of death called home the subject of this sketch. Deceased was born to Mr. and Mrs. Lafayette Livingston, in union township, this county, on January 2, 1882. His father and mother both died when he was quite young.
Oscar J. Livingston was loved and respected by all who knew him and it can be truthfully said of him what we all should strive for; "The world is better for his having lived in it".
Funeral services were held at the Christian church in Brainard Saturday afternoon at 1:30 o'clock, Rev. Rice, of West Union, officiating. Interment was made in the Pleasant Grove cemetery.
CARD OF THANKS.
We hereby tender heartfelt thanks to the kind friends and neighbors who gave assistance and sympathy during the illness and at the time of death of Oscar J. Livingston. To the members of the C.M.A. Lodge for their attendance at the funeral in a body, are we especially grateful.
J. Nichols and Family.
