Elgin Echo, Thursday, 3 April 1902.

Monday of last week as Mr. and Mrs. Youmans of Windsor township were driving to West Union, a sudden jerk of the team caused the wagon to become un-coupled, throwing both of them with great force onto the ground. Mrs. Youmans escaped without harm but Mr. Youmans sustained severe internal injuries and the doctors give but little hope of his recovery. Later- He died.
