Postville Review, Saturday, 18 August 1877. In a letter from the papers Clermont correspondent dated 14 August 1877.

Again the grim messenger of Death has invaded our town and snatched away Miss Mary Garvey. She died Aug. 8th, of typhoid fever, after only a few days sickness. Although young in years she was a favorite of the family, and those that knew her best loved her most. But she has gone to return no more.
