Raymond Boleyn, Elgin, Iowa, March 7, 2013
Raymond LeRoy Boleyn, 84, of Elgin, Iowa died Thursday, March 7, 2013 at Palmer Lutheran Health Center, West Union, Iowa.
He was born May 8, 1928 to Leo and Frieda (Miller) Boleyn near Elgin, Fayette County, Iowa. Raymond attended the Elgin School.
On December 28, 1948 Ray married Lois Perry. Together they had five children, Lee, Janet, Dean, Joyce and Kevin. Lois passed way April 20, 1980. On December 5, 1980, Ray married Donna Bahe from Oelwein, Iowa at the First Baptist Church in Elgin.
Ray was a brick and block layer most of his life. He built four new homes in Elgin. He took a lot of pride in his work. He has been a member of the First Baptist Church for over fifty-five years. He was baptized, with his first wife Lois on December 9, 1956 by Pastor H. John Vanderbeck. Ray enjoyed spending time camping, fishing, water skiing, hunting and playing cards with friends.
Ray is survived by his wife, Donna; four children, Reverend Lee (Diane) Boleyn of Elgin, Janet (Richard) Davis of The Villages, Florida, Dean (Antonia) Boleyn of Wichita, Kansas and Kevin (Antonia) Boleyn of Woodbridge, Virginia; son-in-law, John Chandler of Venice, Florida; eleven grandchildren; eighteen great-grandchildren; a sister, Barbara Meis of Florence, Arizona; brothers, Robert (Rosella) Boleyn, Roger (Gretchen) Boleyn and David (Kay) Boleyn all of Elgin and many nieces, nephews and friends.
Ray was preceded in death by his first wife, Lois (Perry) Boleyn; his daughter, Joyce Chandler on September 1, 2006; his parents; a brother, Dennis Boleyn and a sister, Marilyn Hildebrand.
Visitation will be on Tuesday, March 12, 2013 from 5 – 7 p.m. at the First Baptist Church, Elgin Iowa and one hour before services at the church on Wednesday.
Funeral Services will be at 10:30 a.m. on Wednesday, March 13, 2013 at the First Baptist Church, Elgin Iowa with Rev. Ron Roberts officiating.
Burial to follow, at the Elgin Cemetery, Elgin, Iowa.
