OBITUARIES: ELIZABETH VOELKER

Funeral services for Elizabeth “Alice” Voelker, 84, were Tuesday, Jan 20 at St. John’s Lutheran Church in Reinbeck. Graveside services were at the Elgin Cemetery, Elgin. Creps-Abels Funeral Home, Eldora, was in charge of arrangements.

Elizabeth “Alice” Voelker was born Jan. 26, 1913 the daughter of John and Celia (Lantz) Friederich in Elgin. June 4, 1937 she married Milton Voelker in Elkader. They lived in West Bend from 1944 to 1956, in Reinbeck from 1956 to 1994 when they moved to Eldora. Elizabeth was a member of St. John’s Lutheran Church in Reinbeck.

She died Saturday, Jan 17, 1998 at the Eldora Nursing and Rehabilitation Center.

Survivors include her husband Milton of Eldora; three sons, Fred of Eldora, Leroy (Lois) of Minneapolis, Minn., and Lyle (Lynnette) of Waterloo; a daughter, Yvonne (Bill) Bellows of Waterloo; a brother, John Friederich of Guttenberg; two sisters, Martha Mitts of Elgin and Rose West of Elkader; seven grandchildren; and a great-grandson.

She was proceded in death by her parents; four sisters, Ina in 1973, Ella in 1988, Florence in 1989 and Clara in infancy; a brother Henry; two granddaughters; and a great grandson.

A memorial fund has been established.
