Ed Boleyn

Eddy Clark Boleyn, son of Sam Alfred and Eliza (Conner) Boleyn, was born July 1, 1890 on a farm south of Elgin, Iowa and died at the Palmer Memorial Hospital in West Union, Iowa Saturday, November 20, 1976 at the age of 86 years.

He was united in marriage to Wilma Ethel Green December 22, 1915. To this union 6 children were born: Mrs. Dorothy Jones, West Union; Mrs. Sam (Pauline) Howard of Alpha; Mrs. Eula Asmus of Menasha, Wisc.; Gerald Boleyn, deceased; Mrs. Joe (Ruth) Taylor of Kenner, La.; Mrs. Edward (Vonda) Fehlhafer, Lanark, Ill.

Ed lived and worked in the Elgin area all his life. He was baptized in the First Baptist Church of Elgin, Iowa in 1942. Mr. and Mrs. Boleyn celebrated their 60th wedding anniversary on December 22, 1975.

Ed was preceded in death by his mother when he was only 15 months old, his father, 2 brothers and 2 sisters, his son Gerald who was a Flight Officer in the U.S. Air Force in World War II, and a great-great granddaughter, Brandy Danielle Ratliff, infant daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Charles Ratliff, July 15, 1974.

He is survived by his wife, Wilma, 5 daughters, 16 grandchildren, 23 great grandchildren and 2 great great grandchildren and a host of other relatives and friends.

Funeral services were held Monday, November 22, at 1:30 p.m. at the First Baptist Church, Elgin, with the Rev. Ralph Chandler officiating.

Casket bearers were Jack Adrian, Swayne johnson, Eugene Schori, Herbert Ash, Wm. moore and Jake Schneider.

Burial was made in the Elgin Cemetery.

Muehlethaler-Wright Funeral Home, Elgin, was in charge of arrangements.
