Services were held at 2 p.m., Saturday, Nov. 6, from St. Olaf Lutheran Church, West Union, for Mrs. Jesse E. Guyer, West Union, with Rev. Harold E. Sutter officiating. Interment was in the Pleasant Grove Cemetery. Gary Guyer, Elgin; Walt Knutson, Castalia; Arnold Guyer, Elliott Olson, Ronald Guyer, Clermont and Jim Guyer, West Union, were pallbearers.
Opal Laura Hull Guyer was born October 6, 1907, in Indian Territory, Okla., although she lived most of her life in Fayette county, where she was raised by her Aunt Alice and Uncle Walter Arnett. She was married to Jesse E. Guyer on April 5, 1933, in West Clermont Lutheran Church. They spent their married life farming in the West Union area. The family joined the St. Olaf Lutheran Church in 1943, where she was an active member. She died of cancer in her home on Thursday, Nov. 4, at the age of 64 years.
She is survived by her husband, Jesse; two daughters, Mrs. Clarence (Lucia Jane) Bishop, and Mrs. John (Alice) Schaer, Elgin; three sons, Harold, Lester and Russell, West Union; one sister, Mrs. M. E. (Lucia) Robertson, Baldwin Park, California.; one brother, C. George Hull, Oklahoma City, Okla.; and 15 grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, one grandson, one brother, Howard A. Hull, Oklahoma City, Okla.

Our cup has overflowed with all of the kindnesses, expressions of sympathy, gifts of food and memorials during the past month and at the time of death of our wife and mother, Mrs. Jesse (Opal) Guyer. A special thanks to Mrs. Ralph Matt for her kindness in our hour of need. May God bless you with His love as He has truly blessed us.
