OBITUARY OF MRS. H. S. CRAFT.

Margaret Josephine Hitch was born near Galena, in Jo Davis county, Ill., October 25, 1848, and died at Brainard, Iowa, September 16, 1916, aged sixty-seven years, ten months and fourteen days.

On October 30, 1867, she was married to Henry S. Craft at West Union, and next year they would have celebrated their golden wedding anniversary.

To them nine children have been born, five of whom survive their mother. They are john, of West Union; Dan and George, of Brainard; Perry of Elgin; and Arthur of New Hampton. Besides these children she leaves her husband and seven brothers and sisters: John Hitch, of Washington; S. L. and O. P. Hitch and Mrs. Sophia Norton, of New Hampton; Mrs. Louisa Fink, of Springfield, Missouri; Mrs. Mary Monnahan, of Elgin; and W. B. Hitch of West Union.

In 1898 she was converted and become a member of the Baptist church of West Union. Her life has been a consistent one, for which the community in which she lived is deeply indebted. As a quiet, unassuming companion, mother and friend, she will long be remembered. She was faithful to her church, her home, and neighbors; always ready to help but never meddling nor gossiping. Her faith in Christ was firm, and her devotion to Him was sincere. Her death was peaceful, because her trust in God was sure.

Burial was made Monday in the Pleasant Grove cemetery. The funeral was conducted from the Baptist chapel at Brainard by Rev. E. H. Gillet of Oelwein, and Rev. Fred E. Dean, pastor of the West Union Baptist church, of which the deceased was a member. The funeral was largely attended by relatives and friends

CARD OF THANKS.
We wish to thank all the neighbors and friends for their kindly help and words of comfort during the sickness and death of our wife and mother.
Henry S. Craft and Sons.
