Mrs. Julia Bilden passed away Friday, November 3, at the Community Memorial Hospital in Postville at the age of 87 years.
Mrs. Bilden, the daughter of Jorgen and Mary Swenson, was born north of Postville in Allamakee county on April 25, 1874. She was joined in marriage to Theodore Bilden on August 24, 1899 and lived in the rural community east of Clermont. To Mr. and Mrs. Bilden was born one son, Millard. In 1940 her husband passed away and shortly after she moved to Clermont where she led an active life up to three weeks prior to her death.
Preceding her in death, besides her parents and husband, were 2 brothers, Swen and Gilbert, and one sister, Mrs. Mary McClintock.
Survivors include her son Millard; 8 grandchildren, Sandra, Diann, Peter, Dale, Jane, Don, Dean and Zelda; one sister Mrs. Anna Bigler of Postville and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. Monday, November 6, at the East Clermont Lutheran Church with the Rev. John D. Kronlokken officiating.
Interment was made at the East Clermont Cemetery with the Schutte Funeral Home in charge.
