Agnes Marie Bilden
Services were held Monday, October 15 at West Clermont Lutheran Church, Clermont, for Agnes Bilden who died at Community Memorial Hospital, Postville, Thursday, October 11. The Rev. Clarence Johnson officiated.
Agnes Marie Bilden, daughter of Edward E. and Julia Rear Bilden, was born August 15, 1898 in Clayton County, Iowa. She was baptized September 28, 1898 and confirmed October 19, 1913 at the East Clermont Lutheran Church by the Rev. Theo Burseth. She graduated from Clermont high school, attended St. Olaf College and also State Teachers College, Cedar Falls, after which she taught school for several years. She was receptionist at Dr. Jerdee's office for 17 years.
Miss Bilden served as organist in the West Clermont Lutheran Church for 52 years, also served as Sunday School Superintendent for several years and taught Sunday School. She was also a member of the church circle.
Preceding her in death were her parents and one brother Enoch. She is survived by 4 sisters, Evelyn and Louise Bilden, living at home, Mrs. Harry (Myrtle) Amundson, Clermont and Mrs. Julian (Ellen) Moe of Decorah; 2 nieces, Mrs. William Barth of Minneapolis and Mrs. Richard Neumann of Elgin; 2 nephews, Paul Amundson of Fargo, North Dakota and Harold Amundson of Clermont; one grandniece, Juliana Barth and 2 grandnephews, John Barth and David Neumann.
Burial is in God's Acre Cemetery, Clermont.
