Evelyn Bertha Arp was born July 3, 1915 at near Clutier, Oneida, Tama, Iowa to Edward Arp and Bertha Nessler. Evelyn was the eighth of their twelve children. Her siblings were: Frederick, Katrina, Dora, William, Charles Edward, Gladys Arlene, Helen, Harry, Berniece Delores, Bessie Geraldine and Betty Jean.

Evelyn married Francis Byron Quinn on April 11, 1948, they had one daughter. (Francis Quinn was born 1908, died May 31, 1981 Iowa).

Evelyn Bertha Arp Quinn's Obituary from Oelwein Newspaper: OELWEIN - Evelyn Bertha Quinn, 87, died Monday morning, July 22, 2002, at Grandview Health Care Center, Oelwein, after a lengthy illness. Funeral Mass will be 11 a.m. Friday, July 26, at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, with the Rev. Frederick C. Fangmann officiating. Burial will be in Woodlawn Cemetery.

Evelyn was bom July 3, 1915, at Clutier, Iowa, the daughter of Edward and Bertha (Nessler) Arp. She graduated from Maynard High School in 1934. Evelyn and Francis Byron Quinn were married April 11, 1948, at Oelwein. She was a longtime Oelwein resident. Evelyn was a waitress at Mabel's Cupboard and was also a clerk at Connor's Department Store. She moved to Grandview Health Care Center, Oct. 31, 1997. Evelyn was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church and Rosary Society.

Survivors include one daughter, Dixie (Donald) Baumgartner of Oelwein; two sisters, Berniece Lehniger of Hazleton and Betty Jean Christensen of Waterloo; a sister-in-law, Evelyn M. Quinn of Oelwein; and brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Clement (Margie) Quinn of Independence; along with many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Francis Quinn, May 31, 1981; four brothers, Harry, Fred, Bill and Edward Arp; and five sisters, Helen Vargason, Bessie Steffen, Dorothy Arp, Katrina Arp and Gladys Bigelow.

Found Evelyn in the 1920 census living at Oneida, Tama, IA: Edward Arp 39, Bertha Arp 38, Frederick Arp 12, William Arp 10, Edward Arp 9, Gladys Arp 6, Helen Arp 5, Evelyn Arp 4 yrs 6 mos, Harry Arp 1 yr, 9 mos.

Found in the 1925, 1930 censuses at Smithfield, Fayette, IA:
