Mary Ritchie, 86, died Friday at the
Edwards home-in Westgate.
Mary, daughter of Andrew and Annie
Ritchie was born in Scotand,
August 19, 1847, and died April 7,
1933, aged 85 years, 7 months and 18
days.
She came to America with her father,
three brothers, two sisters and
step-mother. She also had five half
brothers and two half sisters. All
have preceded her except Adam Ritchie
of Fayette and M. G. A. Edwards
of Westgate.
She was a member of the Episcopal
church in Independence for many
years. After coming to Westgate she
joined the Methodist church. Her last
words were "God help me."
Funeral services were held Sunday
afternoon with Rev. F. C. Scott of
Sumner officiating. Burial took place
in Greenwood cemetery at the Murphy
church near Westgate.
