Funeral services for Daryl LeRoy Humphrey, age 85, of Arlington, Iowa, will be held today, (Wednesday) at 11:00 a.m. at Arlington, Iowa in the United Methodist Church with Rev. Lisa Schroeder officiating. Interment will be in Taylorsville Cemetery in Arlington, Iowa with military graveside rites conducted by Dean-Harkin American Legion Post 219 of Arlington. The Jamison-Schmitz Funeral Home of Arlington is assisting the family with the arrangements.

Daryl Leroy Humphrey, son of Lester Arthur and Clyta Fern (Rawson) Humphrey, was born October 8, 1921 in rural Arlington, Iowa. He was a 1939 graduate of Arlington High School. He served in the U.S. Army during World War II. He married Darlene Marie Taylor on May 28, 1943 at the Methodist parsonage in Arlington. They farmed for many years in the Arlington area before retiring and moving to Arlington in 1998. He was a member of the United Methodist Church in Arlington and a member of the Dean-Harken American Legion Post 219 in Arlington.

He was preceded in death by his parents.
He was survived by his wife, Darlene, a daughter Delores "Dee or Lonnie", wife of Lee Westcott, and Jan (Russ) Breitsprecher, all of Arlington, Iowa, another daughter, Myrna Jean, Mrs. Francis Krivanek, but where she is from is unknown. There were grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. It is not known if Daryl had any sons, brothers, or sisters.
