- E. N. Ross, a pioneer resident of Fayette county
and Oelwein passed away Friday evening at
Mercy Hospital. Mr. Ross had the misfortune to
fall Monday morning and received a broken hip
from which he failed to recover. He was 89 years
of age.
- He is survived by the following children: W. H.
Ross and Mrs. Effie Refsnider of Oelwein; Mrs.
Retta Blanton, Portland, Oregon; Earl W. Ross and
an only grandson, Donald Ross of Long Beach,
California.
- The body will lie in state at his home at 139
First Avenue, NW until the funeral services which
will be held Sunday afternoon at the spot where
his family lived at an early day, being Grace
Methodist church. Rev. L. W. Hauter and Rev.
Gillespie will officiate. Interment will be made in
Woodlawn cemetery.
