Grant county, Indiana, January 29,
1854. She died in Denver, Colo., Nov.

months and twenty-nine days. September
21, 1870, she was married to J. R.

union were born six children. Gilbert
H. died in l904. The living are Fred,
Clay C., Frank F., Bessie and Alice
Besides her family she leaves. three
brothers and five sisters. They are

Francisco, Cal.; Mrs. T. N. James, of
Dixon; Mo.; Mrs. Ed Hill, of Fayette,
Ia.; Mrs. G. M. Hackett, of Stanley,
Ia. and Mrs. Alex McKillips, of Oelwein.
Mrs. Ross was converted and united
with the church in early childhood. At
he time of her death she was the only
charter member of the First Baptist
church of this city. To properly characterize
her life it would be necessary
to describe all the Christian graces
She was a faithful wife and. mother
quiet but devout. Her religion was of
the every day sort that touched vitally
the life in her home and radiated
to the community in which she lived.
Owing to an affliction from which, she
suffered she was not able frequently
to attend the services of her church
luring the last few months of her life,
but she was a most faithful member
of the Home Department of the Sunday
school, conscientiously studying
each lesson. Her little acts of kindness
and words of wise counsel will
long remain, as a sweet memory in the
minds of her family and friends.
Her departure may seem untimely
but a wisdom to which, faith has
taught us submission has decreed it
otherwise and we bow to His 'Will. A
large circle of friends extend sympathy
to the bereaved husband and
family in their hour of sore affliction.
Funeral services were held in the
Baptist church at 2:00 o'clock p. m.
Wednesday, December 3rd, 1913, conducted
by the pastor.
A large concourse of friends followed
the remains to the new cemetery
where they await the call of the first
resurrection.
