- Edward D. Smith, aged 78 years, 11 months and
six days, and died this morning at his home at
418 East Charles street, his grandson Cecile also
making his home there with his family. Mr. Smith
is well known in Oelwein having moved here
several years ago from a farm in Putnam township.
His wife preceded him in death several years ago
and he has since been making his home here, his
grandson and wife living with him.
- The funeral will be held Thursday.
