FAYETTE — Alma Fern
Williams, 62, of rural Fayette
died early Tuesday at
University Hospitals in Iowa
City after a lengthy illness.
She was a homemaker and
caterer, and was employed by
the West Central School
District. A 1943 graduate of
Maynard High School, she was a
member of St. Paul Lutheran
Church of Maynard, the Naomi
Circle, and Carpenter-Lundbye
Post 245 American Legion
Auxiliary of Maynard.
Services will be held at 10 a.m.
Friday at St. Paul Lutheran
Church in Maynard with the
Rev. Darwin G. Reiter officiating.
Burial will be in St.
Peter^ s Cemetery, Westgate.
Visitation will be after 2 p.m.
Thursday at Kerns-Jamison
Funeral Home in Maynard.
She is survived by her
husband Dale R. Williams, rural
Fayette; three daughters, Susan
Spahn, Mesa, Ariz., Julie
Williams and Sally Williams,
both of Oelwein; one son, Jack
Williams, Westgate; one foster
son, Jerry Meyer, Oelwein; two
grandchildren and three foster
grandchildren; two brothers,
Merle Meyer, Maynard, and
Russell Meyer, Fayette; two
sisters, Mrs. Betty Furay,
Birmingham, Mich., and Mrs.
Winifred Rogers, LaMesa,
Calif.; two step-brothers, Art
Thompson and Franklin
Thompson, both of Maynard;
and many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by
her parents, step-mother, infant
son, infant foster granddaughter,
