Died: Mrs. Robert Young, at her
home on Easter Sunday, April 2, 1899.
Margarrette Ann Ramsey was born
October 10, 1846, in Rendolph, Ill., and
was at the time of her death 52 years, 5
months and 22 days old. When seventeen
years of age she became a member
of the Presbyterian Church. She
was married to Robert Young, Feb. 19,
1865, and they came to Fayette county,
Iowa, the same spring, where she resided
until her death. To this union
were born eight children, four boys
and four girls, one dying in infancy.
After moving to Iowa they joined the
U. B. Church and remained with that
body until they moved near Fairbank,
there being no church of that denomination
there they united with the M.
E. Church, in which they remained
until they moved from Fairbank.
When the doctor announced that she
could not recover, she only said, "Then
I will get rest." The funeral services
were conducted Tuesday, April 4, by
Rev. R. D. McCormack, and the text
was chosen from Hebrews 4:9. The
following hymns were sung: "Thou
Shalt Rest at Eve," "Beyond the Smiling
and the Weeping," "It is Well
With My Soul," 'God be With You."
She lived a faithful Christian life, and
she assured her friends in her last hour
that Jesus would give her rest.
