Funeral services were held at 1:30 p.m. Monday, October 20 at St. John's Lutheran Church in Waukon, Iowa for Milfred "Schultzie" O. Schultz, age 64, of Lansing, Iowa. Rev. Lynn Groe officiated. Burial was in the St. Peter's Cemetery in Eldorado, Iowa. Burnham & Wood Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.

Milfred was born June 7, 1933 in Decorah, Iowa, the son of Floyd and Selma (Schroeder) Schultz. He grew up on his parent's farm near Eldorado, Iowa. He graduated from the West Union High School in 1951. During the Korean War he served in the U.S. Navy. He served from 1952 to 1954. He received an honorable disability discharge. On April 10, 1955 he married Lorraine "Peg" Martin at St. Peter's Lutheran Church in Eldorado. They farmed until 1964 when they moved to the Cedar Falls, Iowa area. From 1967 to 1993 he worked as a security guard at the John Deere Company in Waterloo, Iowa. He was a member of Am-Vets and the VFW, both in Cedar Falls and was a former member of the American Legion.

Milfred died Friday, October 17, 1997 at the Veterans Memorial Hospital in Waukon, Iowa following a massive heart attack. He was preceded in death by his parents.

Milfred is survived by his wife, Peg of Lansing, Iowa; 3 children, Debbie (Blaine) Holder, Gail (Bill) Corwin, and Gil(Dianne) Schultz, all of Cedar Falls, Iowa; 8 grandchildren and 1 great-grandson.
