She was artistic and creative, fashioned clothing, household items and toys from feed sacks, remnants and wood. She built lovely rock gardens wherever she lived. She managed a large chicken operation for many years, raising her own flocks and selling produce.

Also preceding in death were two grandsons in infancy and a granddaughter, Bridget Schultz, eleven months ago.

She is survived by four daughters: Darla Anderson of Prescott, AZ, Vera Allene Schultz of Waterloo, IA, Paula Ege of Hawkeye, IA, and Glenice Thompson of Postville; and one son-in-law, Harlan Schultz, Jr., of Waterloo, IA. There are sixteen living grandchildren and twenty-two great grandchildren. A memorial service was held November 14 at the Van Hove-Schoof funeral chapel in Cedar Falls, with the Rev. Michael Harnois officiating. Music and song was provided by grandchildren Shelly Turner, Kendall Thompson and Tarrah Schultz.
