Melvin N. Helgerson

Melvin Helgerson, son of the late Nels and Ingeborg (Jeglum) Helgerson, was born in Clayton county, July 13, 1885 and passed away suddenly of a heart attack July 5, 1957 at the age of 71 years, 11 months, and 22 days.

He was baptized and confirmed in the East Clermont Lutheran Church.

On November 24, 1906 he was united in marriage to Clara Gunderson.

He is survived by his widow and eight children: Mrs. Earl Simpson, Milton, Clarence, Mrs. Larry Aglipay, Morton, Millard, Mrs. Everett Schlitter and Emmett. His step-mother, Mrs. Julia Helgerson, two brothers, Louie and Harry, two sisters, Mrs. Martin Amundson and Mrs. Reginald Walls and 12 grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents, four brothers and three grandchildren.

Funeral services were held at 1:30 at the Schutte Funeral Home and at the East Clermont Church on July 8, at 2 o'clock conducted by the Rev. Bruce Boyce.
