Funeral services were conducted Friday, July 16 at 2 p.m. at East Clermont Lutheran church, Clermont, for Mrs. Harry Helgerson who died Tuesday, July 13 in an auto accident near Lynxville, Wisconsin. The Rev. Clarence Johnson officiated. Schutte Funeral Home, Postville, was in charge of arrangements.

Esther Valdine Helgerson, daughter of Thomas and Josephine (Brorby) Olson, was born February 13, 1910 in Marion Township, Clayton County.

She was baptized and confirmed in East Clermont Church, where she remained an active life-long member. She was a member of the ALCW, the Sarah Circle and served on many committees.

August 9, 1934, she was united in marriage to Harry Helgerson. They lived in Clayton County on their farm until 1955 when they moved to Postville. In 1961 they built a home in Clermont and resided there.

She was preceded in death by her parents and two brothers, Joseph and James Olson. She is survived by her husband, who remains hospitalized as a result of the accident; a sister Alma (Mrs. E. K. Mork), Clermont, several nieces and nephews.

Burial was in the East Clermont Cemetery.
