N. H. Spears the veteran post master
of Westgate, died at his home last
Friday-morning at 10:45. Mr. Spears
has been poorly for the past year or
more yet, able to be around the office
the most of the time. For the past
three months his condition seemed at
times to be encouraging and gave his
family and friends the hope that he
was going to be himself again, but
God in his infinite wisdom saw fit to
take him to himself on the date mentioned
above. We lived neighbor to
Mr. and Mrs. Spears for fourteen years
and found them at all times, to be
friends that we could rely upon in all
conditions of life. 'They were true
blue, and as the old adage goes "a
friend In need is a friend indeed;"
Thus they were to us, and not only
our family, but all who were fortunate
enough to make their acquaintance.
Misses Inez West and Bessie Green
had charge of the music. Their
duets were beautiful rendered < and
much appreciated by the family and
friends. The funeral was held in the
Opera House.
Mr. Spears was laid to rest in Greenwood
cemetery near Westgate. He
leaves to mourn his loss a devoted
wife and daughter Miss Stella, and
two sisters, Mrs. Glllett and Mrs. Head
