Ruth Helen Hettinger, age 67 of Oelwein, Iowa died Friday, April 15, 2011 at her home. Services were held at 11 a.m. on Wednesday, April 20 at the Jamison-Schmitz Funeral Home with burial in the Woodlawn Cemetery, both in Oelwein, Iowa.

Ruth was born December 24, 1943 in Aplington, Iowa, daughter of Charles and Johanna (Luppen) Hufford. She attended school at Marble Rock, Iowa and in Oelwein, Iowa. She was a homemaker. She married Lester Clayton Hettinger on September 26, 1962 in Oelwein, Iowa.

She was preceded in death by her father, Charles Hufford, and her mother and step-father, Johanna and Lyle Streittmatter, and a niece.

She is survived by her husband; 2 daughters, Deborah (Brad) Wellman of Mascoutah, Illinois and Lisa Fauser (Robert Popson) of Indianola, Iowa; 5 grandchildren and 9 great-grandchildren; 2 brothers, Chuck (Irene) Hufford of Prunedale, California and Ronnie Hufford of Hazleton, Iowa; and 5 sisters, Dolores (Delbert) Miller of Aplington, Iowa, JoAnn Sawyer of Urbandale, Iowa, Sharon (Jim Sloan) Rockwell of Russellville, Arkansas, Marilyn Clendenen of Russellville, Arkansas and Kathy (Ferrill) Cockerham of North English, Iowa.
