Lona Kay Phillips, age 56, of Waucoma, Iowa, died Friday, April 1, 2011 at Mercy Medical Center in New Hampton, Iowa. Funeral services were held at 10:30 on Monday, April 4 at Waucoma Historical Society Center with burial in the Waucoma Cemetery. The Burnham-Wood & S.K. Rogers Funeral Home, West Union, Iowa was in charge of arrangements.

Lona was born April 15, 1953 in Hawkeye, Iowa, daughter of Lawrence and Edna Maye (Blue) Wickham. She married Tom Phillips on November 16, 1973 at the Waucoma Church. She graduated from NICC in Calmar, Iowa with an associate's degree in human services. Mrs. Phillips was a telemarketer with Ross Marketing.

She was preceded in death by her parents, a son, Michael Phillips, a brother Larry Wickham and her father-in-law, Mike Phillips.

She is survived by her husband, Tom; 3 daughters, Hope (Tim) Hartwig of Manly, Iowa, Barbara (Wade) Fischer of Waucoma, Iowa, and Patti Phillips of Cedar Rapids, Iowa; a son, Dale (Jackie) Phillips of New Hampton, Iowa; 11 grandchildren and 1 great-grandchild; and her mother-in-law, Margaret Phillips.
