Marcus Sylvester of Westgate
died in a hospital at Austin, Minnesota,
October 17th. The funeral was held at
Westgate the following Monday at
Murphy chapel, Rev. Cunningham of
this city officiating. Mr. Sylvester was
born in Norway in 1829 and came to this
country in 1861. He had lived in Fremont
township, Fayette county since 1870. His
wife died two years ago. Eight children
were born to Mr. and Mrs. Sylvester, of
whom five survive and were at the funeral,
namely, S. A. Sylvester of Maynard, J. O.
and A. J. of St. Paul and Mrs. F. J. Fridley
and Mrs. Corwin Stohr of Westgate.
