Obituary ~ Mary Josephine Miller was born
October 13, 1916 near Independence and died
at her home near Stanley Tuesday evening,
November 26 at the age of 2 years, 1 month and
13 days. She was the only child of Mr. and Mrs.
Guy Miller. She was a very bright, active child and
will be greatly missed by all who had learned to
love her. But the beautiful bud so early plucked
from this earth will blossom in heaven. She had
been having whooping cough and developed
pneumonia. All that loving hands could do for her
could not save the little life that was so dear to the
loving parents. And her death seemed doubly sad
owing to the fact both parents were ill with
influenza. A short funeral service was held on the
porch of the house Thursday afternoon. On
account of the storm only a few were present. The
little form was laid to rest in the Otsego cemetery
near to the grandma, Mrs. Josephine Miller. The
sincere sympathy of this community is extended to
the grief stricken parents and relatives.
