OELWEIN - Donna E. McLeish, 93, of Oelwein, died Monday
evening. Feb. 7, 2005, at Oelwein Health Care Center, Oelwein,
after a long illness.
Funeral services are 11 a.m., Friday, Feb. 11, 2005, at the
Jamison-Schmitz Funeral Home, Oelwein, with the Rev. Jonathan
Hughes officiating.
Burial will be at Floral Hills
Memorial Gardens, rural Oelwein.
Survivors include a daughter,
Beverly (Larry) Smith of Oelwein, 10
Grandchildren; and several great grandchildren
and great-great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her
parents, husband Harold on Dec. 3, I982, son Harold Jr., on July
28. 1993, two brothers and a sister.
Donna Elizabeth Waters was born on Aug. 15, 1911, at Hazleton,
the daughter of Sherman U. and Letta (Anson) Waters. She graduated
from Hazlelon High School at Hazleton. Donna was united
in marriage to Harold McLeish, Sr., on Jan. 19, 1928, at Hazleton.
The couple farmed by Maynard for several years and then moved
to Waterloo. Donna was a waitress and hostess at the President
Hotel and was the manager of Buck Hill Tap, both in Waterloo.
Donna returned to Oelwein in 1990 and had been a resident of
Oelwein Health Care Center since 1991.
Donna was a member of Westminster Presbyterian Church and
the Moose Lodge, both in Waterloo.
