VOLGA (Special) ... Services for Oscar Lamphier, 83,
will be held Friday at the Sacred Heart church in
Volga, with burial in the church cemetery. Body is a
at Gill funeral home in Strawberry Point.
Mr. Lamphier, long time resident of Volga, died
Monday at the Bakke rest home in Oelwein. His wife
the former Mabel Staffenhagen preceded him on
December 1, 1958. They farmed between Volga and
Wadena many years.
Surviving are two daughters, Mrs. M. F. (Hazel) Barnes,
Vinton; Mrs. F. D. (Rowena) Smith, Oelwein; six sons,
Francis, Glasgow, Mont., Edwin, Fayette; Leonard,
Marion; Lyle, Randalia; Orville, Wadena and Donald,
Oelwein; a number of grandchildren and great
grandchildren; a brother, Morris Lamphier, Volga.
