Nicholas Travis, an old, well known and respected citizen of Clermont, died at the home of his son here on Friday morning, March 22. Funeral services were held at the Catholic church on Sunday conducted by Father McCabe and interment took place at the Catholic cemetery near Clermont. Mr. Travis died of heart failure while sitting on a chair, seemingly in accustomed health. The summons was unheralded and was a surprise to his many acquaintances. He was a veteran of the Civil War and was one of Clermont's familiar citizens for many years. he will be missed by us all. He leaves five sons to mourn his death.
