Sharon Mae Schneider

Sharon Mae Schneider, 55, Elgin, Iowa, died Tuesday, February 8, 2011, at University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics, Iowa City, Iowa. Sharon was born on May 21, 1955, in Postville, Iowa, to LaVerne and LaVilia (Learn) Schneider. She graduated from Valley Community School with the class of 1974.

Sharon worked for Schwan's in Marshall, MN, for many years and did housekeeping. She moved back to the area in the late 1990's. Sharon loved spending time with all of her family members, especially her nieces and nephews. She was known as a true people person.

Survivors include her seven siblings, Lawrence (Marie) Schneider, West Union, Charles (Susan) Schneider, Elgin, Shirley Larson, Bloomington, MN, Leslie Schneider, St. Olaf, Sheryl (Gary) Martinson, Marion, Sharlene (Roger) Halverson, Clermont, Milton (Jo) Schneider, Woodenville, WA; her nieces and nephews and five step-siblings.

Sharon was preceded in death by her parents, LaVerne and LaVilia Schneider; her step-mother, Kathryn Schneider and one brother-in-law, James Larson.

Memorial Services will be held on Monday, February 14, 2011, at 11 a.m. at the Leonard-Grau Funeral Home and Cremation Service of Elgin, Iowa. Church Minister, Dale Moore will officiate.

Inurnment will follow in God's Acres Cemetery, Clermont, Iowa.

Visitation will be held on Sunday, February 13, 2011, from 2-5 p.m. at the Leonard-Grau Funeral Home and Cremation Service of Elgin, Iowa, and one hour before services on Monday.
