Ed F. Brassie, son of Mrs. Matt Shomer, passed
away to the great beyond at 415 South Frederick,
Oelwein, August 19, 1916.
His was an ailment for which there was little hope
for complete recovery, pereunis anemia.
Although afflicted for a long while he bore his
suffering with a resigned spirit.
Ed F. Brassie was born in Olney, Illinois March 1, 1869
In early youth he accompanied his mother to
Oelwein, later being employed in Chicago for a
number of years. For the past seven years he has
resided in Oelwein much of the time. Beside his
mother, Mrs. Matt Shomer and sister, Mrs. M. T. Lewis,
a brother George W. Brassie of LaFayette, Indiana, is
left to mourn his death.
Funeral services were held at the Sacred Heart
church Monday morning August 21 after which he was
laid to rest in the Catholic Cemetery.Oelwein Daily Register - 21 Aug 1916
